About Us

Fosse Way Honey was originally a honey production company built by John Home, who was based near the Fosse Way at Harbury, Warwickshire. He started the business back in the 1980's supplying shops and selling honey on farmers markets. John supplied my deli business in Leamington Spa. When he decided to retire, Janette and I bought the business, with John staying on to teach me 'the ropes'. Beekeeping on a large scale can be quite complicated, so John's help and advice were invaluable.

Since 2005 when we started, we have continued the business of supplying shops (see our stockist info ) and we now sell our honey products online. We produce honey from 10 permanent apiaries sited near the River Stour at its source near Swalcliffe, Oxfordshire, down to Stratford upon Avon in Warwickshire and some near Stow on the Wold.

In 2016 we added to our product range with mead production. Mead is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting honey and water. We are lucky that we can now produce our mead using spring water, which rises on the farm in North Oxfordshire, where we work.

We produce 2 types of mead  -  the Cotswold Dry which is light and fruity - great with food, and Cotswold Buzz which is stronger and makes a great aperitif or cheese accompaniment.

If you have been a visitor to the Cotswold Hills, you may wish to remind yourself of your holiday with some of our honey and mead products. Our online store has a range of jars, but get in touch if you would like us to make some wedding favours or corporate gifts .
